These plants have established roots and new growth, plants are grown in growing medium and bound with string to keep roots protected and soil moist during transportation.

 Although you plants can survive and grow quite happily for some time in the string balls, eventually the roots will protrude through the string.

When replanting remove the string and plant the root ball into well draining potting medium. 

I use a mix of perlite, orchard mix spaghnum moss and seed raising mix.
